I specialize in large format film documentary photography, and often provide services for the Historic American Building Survey (HABS) and the Historic American Engineering Record (HAER). The HABS / HAER program is overseen by the National Park Service, and its ambition since it was founded in 1933 has been to document historic buildings, structures and landscapes in both measured drawings and photographs. Large format black and white film is the HABS / HAER standard due to its incredibly high resolution and stability over time. All documentation produced by the HABS / HAER program is submitted to the Library of Congress, where it becomes part of our collective historical record, available to all through public domain.
